Proportioned Grids
It is important to understand how relevant proportion and size is with these drawings. As the dice piece works as a whole (140x100 cm) the other pieces work as a part of that whole. Originally a total number of 30,000 counted marks would be applied to the area of the whole within the time of 600 minutes (working with the notion of a frequency of 50 marks per minute). The process of these drawings would be portioned into half hour stints, which would theoretically cover a 20 th of the space (700cm squared). Other variables were implemented to further instantiate a mathematical process. The paint machine pieces represent a 20 th of the space and the contents of these (seen in the detailed images respectively) imply further reductions in the process of image making. Furthermore the calculated grids of different shapes represent the size of 50 marks (or a minute of time). |
