One Minute Pictures
As in Proportioned Grids, the notion of size and ratio is used as a template to introduce representations of time and instance. The One Minute Pictures refer to a pre-calculated amount of perceivable space that reflects a calculated amount of time. The individual pictures produce a grid of sequential images that have a specific narrative, whether it is general art making activity or counting pieces of paper. The images themselves are sourced from actual films made of myself in the processes of making art. There is a continued use of the grid format, which can be seen within the actual animations I have made. Within this there is a constant reference to how pictorial space can be broken up into aspects of dimensionality, whether it is time periods or actual instantiated space. |
