A collaborative showcase of wall based, floor based, movement based, and sound based artworks that deal with an articulation of ideation upon communicable architectural space. The two artists, Maria Bojanowska and Richard Taylor have had a long-standing artistic relationship that delves into the playfulness and perform-ability of conceptual art: In an attempt to visualise thought within the boundaries of perceivable space it is necessary to collaborate with creative writers to consolidate some of the visual output. From this necessity Maria proposes to include written text from invited literary artists, from which she will directly achieve an accompanying visual language that is drawn from the psychological space of thinking and understanding. Whilst processing the conceptual activity of representing thought, there is a multiplicity of dimensions that are included when reproducing them visually. Within this process there is also an abbreviation of visual language, which takes hold of a variety of media. Richard's work will be presented in related but differentiating mediums expressing the dimensions of visual output. Through this, the notion of illusion manifests itself in the solidity of visual discourse. A co-current theme that is shared through exploration is the non-transparency of language. Both Richard and Maria's work confront how conceptual processes are to be presented visually, and blatantly within perceivable space; the pieces are language games presented in pictorial representation. |
